Preparation for Inspection

Who can benefit?

Any school facing the first international accreditation inspection. Any school which is in the middle of the inspection cycle, or before the re-evaluation process.

Reflection point: what is an international school? Many schools call themselves “international”, as a marketing tool, or just because they registered a number of international students and staff members.

To be an international one, a school should:

  • have an international accreditation
  • implement an international curriculum
  • introduce international assessments
  • use international educational resources
  • have international links

Why would any school need support for the preparation for inspections?

The accreditation process is very complex in many cases, looking at all aspects of school life which are then judged against a set of standards.

The accreditation process is a journey of school development, which is continuous. On this path, the inspections are just landmarks, opportunities for self-evaluation, feed-back, reflection and further progress.

The preparation of an inspection should be very well planned in a way that does not transform the process into a burden for the whole community. It involves a lot of different details and, in many cases, the links between various activities / aspects of school life are not that evident.

What kind of inspections are included in our area of expertise?

  • BSO – British Schools Overseas
  • COBIS Compliance and Patrons
  • Cambridge International Education

What can we do to support?

  • design a plan / gantt for a determined period of time to prepare for the inspection covering all standards
  • review of the quality of the school structures, systems and practice on each standard
  • consultancy and feed-back on the writing of the self-evaluation forms
  • training for the teachers to understand the specific elements of an inspection
  • support for the policy and procedures review
  • audit on health & safety & safeguarding processes
  • evaluation of the quality of the teaching and learning process in the school
  • support for the implementation of the recommendations described in the inspection report

We can accompany the school on this process across a commonly agreed period of time!
